Multi level HVAC upgrade and system optimisation

Allcraft Projects delivered a staged upgrade of air conditioning systems across three levels of the Red Cross facility in East Perth, improving performance, comfort and reliability throughout the building.

The project involved assessing existing ageing and underperforming systems and implementing a practical solution to supplement and upgrade air conditioning without requiring full replacement across the entire site.

Ground Floor Supplementary Cooling Installation

New split system air conditioners were installed within large interview and meeting rooms where existing systems were no longer performing effectively.

These systems were designed to complement the remaining operational services, improving comfort and usability of key spaces without the need for major system replacement.

Middle Floor Open Plan Cooling Upgrade

A significant upgrade was delivered to the main open plan office area, which experienced high heat loads due to solar exposure and building conditions.

Works included:

The exposed ceiling structure required careful coordination of services and mounting, resulting in a clean and functional installation suited to the space.

Upper Floor System Upgrade and Fault Rectification

The upper floor works included both new installations and critical fault rectification.

Works included:

Through detailed investigation, Allcraft Projects identified and rectified an issue within the existing system, restoring functionality and avoiding full replacement. This resulted in significant cost savings for the client while improving airflow and performance across the main working area.

External Works and Installation

External condenser units were installed across both ground level and roof mounted locations. Where required, units were craned into position and integrated alongside existing infrastructure.

Project Outcome

The staged approach allowed targeted upgrades across all levels, significantly improving overall building performance without unnecessary replacement of existing systems.

The result is a comfortable, functional working environment that supports staff operations across all areas of the facility.

This project was particularly rewarding in delivering an improved working environment for a not for profit organisation, ensuring staff could operate comfortably across all areas.
