Courtroom restoration and timber refinishing across 18 courtrooms

Allcraft Projects was engaged to undertake the restoration of multiple courtrooms within the Commonwealth and Family Law Courts in East Perth.

The project involved the complete refurbishment of existing timber finishes throughout each courtroom, including solid timber furniture, joinery and wall panelling. Rather than removing and replacing these elements, our approach focused on restoring the existing materials to extend their lifespan and preserve the integrity of the spaces.

Works included the careful stripping back of all timber surfaces to their natural state, followed by the application of a water based two pack clear coating system to achieve a durable and consistent finish across all areas. All restoration works were completed on site, requiring detailed planning, protection of surrounding areas and coordination within an operational environment.

In addition to the timber restoration, associated works included carpet cleaning and the refurbishment of surrounding wall panelling to ensure a consistent overall finish throughout each courtroom.

This project was delivered across a total of 18 courtrooms and required a high level of precision, coordination and care due to the sensitive nature of the environment. The outcome successfully restored the courtrooms to a near new condition, significantly extending the service life of the existing materials.
