High-level façade glass replacement within atrium structure
Allcraft Projects was engaged to undertake the replacement of a damaged glass panel located within the atrium at the upper level of the Australia Post building at Forrest Chase.
The panel was positioned approximately 13 levels above ground within a heritage-listed structure, presenting significant access and logistical challenges. Due to site constraints, the glass could not be transported internally or via conventional access methods.
A specialist access solution was developed, involving the controlled lifting of the glass panel externally up the building façade using rope access techniques. Once at roof level, the panel was carefully transferred across the roof and elevated into position to be installed horizontally within the atrium façade.
The works required precise planning, coordination and execution, with a strong focus on safety due to the working at height conditions and the location within a public environment.
Allcraft Projects successfully delivered the installation with no incidents, ensuring the building was restored efficiently while maintaining strict safety and compliance requirements.
